Sabrina: The Teenage Witch: The Animated Series
SABRINA: THE ANIMATED SERIES
EPISODE #62 – WICCAN OF THE SEA – Sabrina is just sick of the
winter weather. She, Chloe and Salem would give anything for one hour at the
beach. Sabrina dabbles in the Spooke Jar and off they go. When they get to the
beach they realize they have been transformed. Sabrina and Chloe are mermaids
and Salem is a catfish! They get swept away at sea and are captured by Queen
Stingy. They must escape and return to the island in order to return home! Fed
up with Winter, Sabrina and Chloe use the Spookie Jar to travel to a tropical
island. When the girls and Salem get there, however, the spell turns Sabrina
and Chole into mermaids and Salem into a catfish. Under the ocean, the three
have to protect a school of fish from an evil jellyfish who threatens to eat
everything and everyone. The story begins with Sabina daydreaming about summertime
at the beach with Harvey, Chloe, Salem and more of her friends and family. Woken
up by her teacher at school, Sabrina is bummed out because it was still winter in
Greendale. Pi tells the teacher Bernard got his tongue stuck to a snowman again.
It was Gem Stone’s snowman and it was the fifth time in winter it happened to Bernard.
As Sabrina, Harvey and Chloe walk home from school that day, Sabrina wonders if
this winter will ever end. “I’m so sick of freezing every day!” Sabrina says to
Chloe. Chloe adds that Sabrina couldn’t get her mind off the cold by doing
after-school activities. Sabrina couldn’t wait until summer came, what she wouldn’t
give for spending an hour at the beach. Chloe agrees with what Sabrina says. Sabrina
invites Chloe over at her house for some hit chocolate. When they get home,
Aunt Zelda tells Sabrina it was her turn to shovel the sidewalk. While Chloe
makes the hot chocolate, Sabrina does what she was told by Aunt Zelda. As soon
as Sabrina finishes piling up the snow from the sidewalk, she goes back inside.
When she shuts the door, all of the snow she piled up covers up the sidewalk again.
One day, Sabrina is completely tired of winter, so she and Chloe use the Spookie
Jar to go to an island in summertime for an hour. For the spell, Spookie tells
them they will spend one hour in summertime and he provides an hour-glass amulet.
Spookie says to them “When the last grain falls apart, you can only leave from
the place you start.” When Sabrina and Chloe arrive to the island, Chloe immediately
fins a seashell. Salem, who happens to join the two girls, asks them what
Spookie said about the spell. Sabrina says “We know, when the hour is up, we
have to leave from the same island.” Chloe adds, “Worse things can happen.” Sabrina
and Chloe start for the water. But then they fall down in the sand. They get up
and realize that they don’t have legs but tail fins. The spell has turned the girls
into mermaids! Salem says, “Your hour by the sea has become an hour in the sea.
Boy, do you look silly,” Sabrina tells Salem to look at his tail. Salem is stunned
to find he has turned into a catfish – part cat, part fish. By now, the girls
were getting hot and needed to get in the water. As soon as all three were in
the ocean, Sabrina thinks, “OK, this isn’t really what we expected for a day at
the beach yet it’s only for an hour.” Suddenly, the three get dragged
underwater by a title wave. As Sabrina and Chloe rescue Salem thinking he’d
drown, they discover that they can breathe an speak underwater. Salem thinks being
part cat and part fish is somewhat unnerving for him. Chloe decides that they
may as well enjoy being under the sea since it was only for an hour. Sabrina
reminds Chloe that when time is up, they must leave from the same island they
started on. Before their search, Salem decides to have an underwater snack of…
well, fish. Unexpectedly, he gets swallowed by a big fish. Not only that, he
loses the amulet they got from the Spooki’s spell. Sabrina and Chloe both get
swallowed whole by the fish as well. Meanwhile, two fish are looking for
something shiny to give to Queen Stingy so they won’t get eaten. They see the
amulet float by and decide it is the perfect gift to give her. On the sea, a
fisherman is fishing but hasn’t caught anything yet. Under the ocean, Sabrina
can’t believe that she has ever actually been swallowed whole by a fish. Chloe
sniffs and says, “Yuck, don’t they make breath mints for fish? If so, we’d
better invest.” It was dark in that fish until Salem turns on a light he finds
inside. In fact, Sabrina and Chloe find other things the fish has been eating. “This
fish has been binging,” says Salem. Sabrina says, “This is fun, but we have to
get out of here or we’ll be storing our school books in Davie Jones’s Locker.”
Chloe wonders,” Isn’t Davie Jones the new kid in our school who looks like he was
from the band Menudo?” The three feel a rumble in the fish, which was eaten by
an even bigger one. By now, Sabrina wants to be free from the fish’s belly so
Chloe comes up with a plan to make the fish sneeze them out. She tickles the
fish’s throat with a feather she finds, and the three get sneezed out… into a
fishing net! There were other sea creatures in that net.
EPISODE #61: WORKING WITCHES – Hilda and Zelda want a car and
need some cash fast! Quigley explains that they need to get a good old-fashioned
job. They reluctantly work at the local fast food joint, but trouble brews when
Hilda gets promoted for Zelda’s hard efforts. The success goes to Hilda’s head
and she has to hit rock bottom before she realizes how much she needs her
sister and the importance of teamwork. Hilda and Zelda have a hard time
carrying home groceries so they get a job to earn a car, but Zelda does all the
work and Hilda gets all the promotions. So, Zelda quits and Hilda has a hard
time managing the job by herself. She eventually needs Zelda’s help but it
becomes too late and they both get demotions. Meanwhile, Salem needs Sabrina to
be at a prize giving ceremony in Salem’s place.
✰ EPISODE #60: WITCHWRECKED – The class’ field trip goes sour
when they are alone on a desert island with a lot of magic present. It is field
trip time as Sabrina’s class heads towards Monument Island where an important statue
is kept. The class is disappointed to have chaperones and worse yet, to write a
paper on it. UHGG! Sabrina decides to take matters into her own hands by
kicking up a small sea storm. The storm gets outta control and they are
shipwrecked on a remote island (in the Bermuda Triangle). They are in trouble
when Sabrina discovers her magic won’t work. The kids pull together to rebuild the
ship and get out of there. They are stalled when Salem freaks out and steals
the propeller of the ship. Sabrina must delve into the jungle to retrieve it…
and Salem.
✰ EPISODE #59: TRUTH OR SCARE – Sabrina learns the downside of
daring people when she goes into a “haunted” mine. Sabrina and her classmates
go on a camping adventure! Her Uncle Quigley is acting chaperone. Gem uses this
opportunity to get to Sabrina by daring her to play a prank on her sweet Uncle.
Sabrina does it to save face but feels horrible all the while. The tennis match
of pranks goes on until Harvey is in danger. Sabrina realizes that dares are stupid
and people may end up getting hurt.
✰ EPISODE #58 – GENERATION HEX – Sabrina is on a quest to raise the
most amount of money for the Library fund. She does and even earns a little
extra. Sabrina gets sidetracked while eyeing a vintage collectable doll in a
store window. She takes the extra earnings and splurges on herself. Why not?
She earned it! That night the doll comes to life and shows her the error of her
ways. Sabrina learns that because of her, her friends and family lives have
been ruined! She wakes up the next day, feeling guilty. She returns the doll
and learns a very important lesson in stealing. Sabrina sees what the world
would be like if she doesn’t help out the library. Sabrina has been busy planning
fundraisers to help the Greendale Library. She and her friends are aiming to
raise ae total of $3,000. Some of her duties include washing cars, selling old
things from her attic at home and holding a bake sale. Gem buys a brownie from
Sabrina for only a dollar. Even Gem Stone couldn’t pronounce the word “library”.
As for Gem, she has planned to rustle up money to buy herself a Billy-Go-Boom collector’s
doll. There are only two of them left in the world. Sabrina has already made a total
of $300 thus far. Pi says that the library needs good money to get books for
the science and engineering sections. He has even made blueprints to show the
future of transportation and Sabrina is impressed. When Harvey and Pi lay eyes
on the Billy-Go-Boom collector’s doll in a window of an antique store, they
rush into the shop to ask the shopkeeper how much it costs. The price is set to
$200. Harvey and Pi are impressed and tell him how much they like their favorite
cartoon show when the phone rings. It is that snooty Gem Stone who wants to buy
it. To keep Gem from buying that valuable doll and in a sense of temptation, Sabrina
offers to buy it for $300. That $300 was the money Sabrina made for the library.
Her friends are in shock after she buys the doll and Sabrina simply says that
she earned it for her hard work. “What could be wrong,” Sabrina adds. And Harvey
tells her that it was one of those times that it can come back to haunt her.
That night, Uncle Quigley tells Sabrina how proud he is for all her hard work
she did to help the library. Sabrina has just hardly gone to sleep when something
creepy happens. The Billy-Go-Boom-Boom doll she bought at the antique store
comes to life! Tonight, the doll was playing a different role – the role of Sabrina’s
conscience. Billy tells Sabrina that she bought him with someone else’s money,
but Sabrina doesn’t want to believe him. “It’s not like I bought a dumb old toy
to alter the universe,” Sabrina tells herself and she goes back to bed. When
she awakes, Sabrina finds herself in bed without her house. She has been taken into
the future, forty years to be exact. The house burned down after Sabrina’s
family moved. Uncle Quigley couldn’t find a book on proper home improvement techniques
because the library didn’t have one. Billy takes Sabrina on a trip to show her
what has happened since then. They board the Pie-in-the-Sky transportation system
made by Pi, who looks forty years older than we know him. The system didn’t go
too well because certain principles of speed are missing. Ever since Sabrina
spent that money, Pi wasn’t able to find books on transportation. The only way for
getting from here to there is by pedal power. Sabrina thinks that Pi may not be
what she thought for the future, bow about Harvey? He seems to be enjoying his
job. The only job Harvey has in Sabrina’s future was curling pigs’ tails. Back
then, he wanted a book on applying for a university. But since the library didn’t
have those kinds of books, Harvey got stuck with the job he has. The library could’ve
improved greatly if Sabrina hadn’t spent her money on something useless. As for
Sabrina’s cat friend, Salem, he got stuck with a job that isn’t any good either.
He even lost his chance of returning back to a warlock again. But wait: What
about the future Sabrina Spellman? What happens to her? Billy takes the
present-day Sabrina to see how she would’ve been in the future. At first,
Sabrina thinks it is exciting for her future self to have her very own company,
but Billy adds that the older Sabrina isn’t what the younger Sabrina thought
she was. Sabrina wants to see her, but she isn’t allowed to come in, but they take
her in anyhow. When Sabrina sees herself she realizes that her future self has
given up half of her witch powers ever since she started her company. She uses
to care about others back when she was twelve. Getting away with little things
can make you pull off bigger things like stealing. Jus then an older-aged version
of Gem Stone appears. She is the chairman of the place. When Gem sees the younger
aged Sabrina, she thinks the older aged Sabrina has hired her as the new janitor
for the office. The reason Gem used to hate Sabrina back then was because she
was jealous of her. But now, Sabrina has seen everything though Gem and has
become rich like her. The young Sabrina finally realizes that Gem has all of
her witch powers that were sold to her. Gem attempts to stela the rest of the
twelve-year-old Sabrina’s powers now that she’s returned. Just as the present-day
Sabrina is about to lose the rest of her witch powers, who should come to her rescue
but… Salem! Of course, Salem knows that the only person who can fix the past is
Sabrina Spellman herself. Sabrina finds herself back in the present with good ol’
Salem. Sabrina tries to sell back the Billy-Go-Boom-Boom doll for what she paid
yesterday, but the shopkeeper only gives her back $75. She still has a ways to
go until she earns back the remaining $300. Everything she did was only for a
good cause and for the Greendale Library.
